I've Got a Crush

Do y'all remember crushed velvet from the '90s? I'm so glad it made a comeback! It is soooo luxurious! Mostly a womenswear feature, crushed velvet was a popular fabric for dresses and shirts back then and they are here for the comeback. That should not be a surprise for my lovelies that follow fashion trends because weird fabrics are all the rage today.
As rich and luxe as the velvet fabric itself, so were the bold colors that were spotted on the New York Fashion Week runways this year (I know, I know I still need to blog about my experience). But be warned: bold-colored velvet is making its presence known in the Fall 2017 season! So ditch the basic black and opt in for a bold color like the wine top I have on here. Keep it simple though. Since velvet is what I call a "statement fabric," you don't want to look crazy. Here, I paired my top with dark denim jeggings and hunter green booties (again, step away from black!).
P.S. You all loved how I showed a luxe look on a budget in my last post, so I decided to take on the challenge to do it again. The top and bottoms were super cheap. Please let me know if you want me to keep doing budget-friendy styles mixed with luxury pieces.
